Portland

<< Portland

Portland stone - light-colored limestone of the Jurassic age. Major developments of the Portland stone are conducted in quarries on the peninsula of Portland, United Kingdom. Many well-known buildings have been built from it, for example, the Cathedral of St. Paul in London.
In 1840, the Frenchman Louis Vic received one of the most popular building materials today - Portland cement, which got its name from the name of the island of Portland. The artificial stone (concrete) obtained with cement additives is similar in color to the natural stone mined there.
The collection "Portland" uses the texture and pattern of Portland stone and a large, expressive ornament as a decoration
